Mantra: Waa yantee kar yantee, jag dut patee, aadak it waha, brahmaday trayshaa guroo, it wahay guroo Translation: Great Macroself, Creative Self. All that is creative through time, all that is the Great One. Three aspects of God: Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh. That is Wahe Guru. More Information • This mantra was given by Patanjali, a great Yogi. It is said that over two thousand years ago Patanjali was lecturing students on prophets who would come in the Iron Age, the age of Kaliyug. He prophesied Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s coming into the world and gave the “Wah Yantee” mantra, which describes Wahe Guru. The “Wah Yantee” mantra also predicted the coming of the “Wahe Guru” mantra. • The “Wah Yantee” mantra is known for awakening the intuition. “Wah Yantee” is one of the mantras on every Aquarian Sadhana album. According to Yogi Bhajan, this mantra is the “culmination of hundreds of years of prayer”—which is why we revere this mantra as a gift from those who prayed and practiced for centuries.

The Siri Guru Granth Sahib is based upon the concepts of the Mul Mantra. When speaking about the chanting of this mantra, Yogi Bhajan says, “The Mul Mantra is a fate killer. It removes the fate and changes the destiny to complete prosperity.”

When we chant it, we affirm that we are timeless, deathless beings. This is one of the Aquarian Sadhana mantras. It is known for giving victory in all aspects of life. • It is said that when we are challenged in life, there are three impulses we confront: One is to be alone and withdraw, the second is to deny or fantasize about the future, and the third is to live greedily or in scarcity instead of prosperously. This mantra is to help us overcome these tendencies and give courage and fortitude.

God is merciful, and never forgets us. God guides us, giving us good people to help us. God does not allow hurt to come to us. I take comfort in the thought of God. When I remember God, I feel peaceful and happy and all my pain departs. More Information: • These are the words of Guru Arjan, the Fifth Sikh Guru, and are for complete protection. It is from the evening prayer (Rehiras), which adds energy to one’s being, and helps when you are physically weak or have limited wealth. It is a victory song which allows us to be guided by God’s graceful and merciful hand. It does away with the obstacles to fulfilling one’s destiny. • Chanting this mantra helps prevent fluctuations of the mind. This mantra is included in the Aquarian Sadhana and is done as a part of the daily practice in the morning meditations for Kundalini Yoga practitioners.
5.
Mantra: Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Wahe Jio Translation: Wahe Guru: Great beyond description is the experience of God’s wisdom Wahe Jio: Great beyond description is the experience of God blessing the soul More Information: • This is a mantra of ecstasy. Wahe Guru is said to not only be the experience of the divine, but also impart the experience of the divine. Jio is said to impart an affectionate relationship to/with the divine. Yogi Bhajan said that this mantra means “clear perception of what is important to preserve,” and that it “links the essence of your purpose to the greater minds and souls in the cosmos.”
6.
Mantra: Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru Translation: Guru: Teacher or guide that brings one from the darkness to the light Wahe: The indescribable living ecstasy of Infinite Being Ram Das: literally translates as “God’s Servant,” but also refers to Guru Ram Das, the Fourth Guru of the Sikhs More Information: • This mantra projects the mind to the source of knowledge and ecstasy. It was given to Yogi Bhajan by Guru Ram Das in his astral self. Guru Ram Das, the Fourth Guru of the Sikhs, was known for his humility and healing abilities, and this mantra is also known for its healing qualities and for imparting humility to anyone who chants it. It relates directly to healing and the protective energy represented by Guru Ram Das. The mantra also refers to the wisdom that comes to a servant of the Infinite, and reconnects our experience of the finite to the Infinite.
7.
Mantra: Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung Translation Ra: Sun Ma: Moon Da: Earth Sa: Impersonal Infinity Sa Say: Totality of Infinity So: Personal sense of merger and identity Hung: The infinite, vibrating and real More Information: • This mantra taps into the energies of the sun, moon, earth, and the Infinite Spirit to bring deep healing. It can be chanted to heal the self or to send healing energy to anyone you wish.

Mantra: Ardas Bhaee Amar Das Guru, Amar Das Guru, Ardas Bhaee, Ram Das Guru, Ram Das Guru, Ram Das Guru, Sachee Sahee Translation: The prayer has been given to Guru Amar Das. The prayer is manifested by Guru Ram Das. The miracle is complete. English Lyrics: You are my life. You are my love. Everlasting peace. Healer of all. Bestower of faith. Bestower of all. I am at your feet, Beloved O Lord. Bring me to thy bliss. Bring me to thy love. The nectar of the naam, rests me in your arms. I am that I am and I am all Yours. More Information: • Guru is that which directs one from darkness (gu) to light (ru), from ignorance to the experience of one’s infinite nature. Guru Amar Das is the third of the Sikh Gurus and is the energy of grace and hope when there is no hope. He lived from 1479 to 1574 and is said to embody generosity and equality. • Guru Ram Das, his son-in-law, is the fourth of the Sikh Gurus and is the energy of miracles, healings, and blessings. He lived from 1534 until 1581 and is said to embody humility, loving service, and compassion. Ram means “servant of the Lord.” • If you ask something of Guru Ram Das, he has to bring it to God for you. Give your worries to Guru Ram Das and let him take them to God. The God that rotates the Earth can certainly take care of your problems! This is the mantra for answered prayers. • As Yogi Bhajan says, “Normally there is no power in the human but the power of prayer. And to do prayer, you have to put your mind and body together and then pray from the soul. ‘Ardas Bhaee’ is a mantra prayer. If you sing it, your mind, body, and soul automatically combine, and without saying what you want, the need of the life is adjusted. That is the beauty of this prayer.”
9.
Poem by Hafiz: Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, “You owe me.” Look what happens with a love like that, it lights up the entire sky. English lyrics by Ananda Yogiji: So make your love like the sun and shine down on everyone. Mantra: Ang Sung Wahe Guru Translation: The dynamic, loving energy of the Infinite Source of All is dancing within my every cell, and is present in my every limb. My individual consciousness merges with the Universal Consciousness. The Infinite Being, God, is with me and vibrates in every molecule and cell of my being. More Information • As Gurucharan Singh, director of training at the Kundalini Research Institute, writes, “This mantra expresses a universal truth. Repeating it creates a thought, which gradually guides the psyche to adjust itself. It reconnects every fragmented projection of the psyche, each separated part of the body, and synchronizes the finite sense of self to the Infinite Oneness. This act of rejoining the separated parts is the quintessential act of healing. Under attack, under war, under the pressures of fear, this meditation keeps us together, conscious, and ready to act. It brings the inner peacefulness that comes only from the touch and scope of spirit.”
10.

For fans of devotional chant, Kundalini yoga practitioners, meditators—or anyone curious about this elevating music—Kundalini Morning Chants is a beautiful listening experience and a tool to actively engage with these powerful invocations.

The first six mantras on this album are known collectively as the “Aquarian Sadhana.” These mantras were chosen and put into this particular sequence by Yogi Bhajan. Together, they form the cornerstone of Kundalini Yoga practice, and provide the focus for the 62-minute meditation in the quiet hours of the morning just before sunrise.

Each mantra connects with and activates a particular facet of the soul, bringing healing, balance, and deep remembrance of one’s Sat Nam, or true nature.

Many Kundalini Yoga practitioners who are also musicians have created melodic songs out of these mantras, each expressing their own unique experience of the Naad, or divine sound current. We offer our interpretation of the Aquarian Sadhana to be part of your morning practice—or to use whenever you would like to drop into the golden chain of consciousness, to deepen your divine awareness, and expand your peaceful bliss-nature.

The last three songs on the album are some of our favorite mantras from the Kundalini Yoga tradition, each of which is associated with a particular healing and miraculous effect.

Please note that the “Wahe Guru Wahe Jio” mantra on Track 5 is normally 22 minutes long for the morning sadhana practice. We shortened it to 11 minutes to be able to include the extra songs on the album. If you are going to use the album for practice, we recommend you repeat Track 5.
It’s important to begin your day by connecting to your own inner beauty and peace. This opens a flow of grace so you can more easily radiate and shine your light out to the world. But we invite you to listen and sing along anytime. These mantras are beneficial at all hours of the day!
